Environmental business leaders from across the West Midlands have attended the launch of an innovative new environmental technology consultancy company Valeswood ETD Limited based in Moseley.
Valeswood's managing director is former Wragge & Co partner and head of environmental law John Turner. With a long-standing interest in environmental business, and twenty-five years of law practice experience, John has developed Valeswood ETD with three other specialist business colleagues from the property, medical and finance sectors.
"Our immediate goals are different from our long term ambitions," Mr Turner commented. "Initially we intend to provide specialised advisory services to the envirotech sector, concentrating on regulation and environmental licensing in the UK and across Europe.
The company also plans to form associations with several small niche consultants. At the launch party Mr Turner announced its association with energy and environmental management specialists Hill Consultants Limited, who offer technical solutions to environmental issues. Hill's Managing Director, Paul Hill said "We are keen to develop our association with Valeswood as the experience of the two businesses is very complimentary".
Valeswood intends to have a strong international perspective, focusing on the European Accession States, the Middle East and the People's Republic of China. Mr Turner, a China enthusiast, will be visiting Beijing twice on business this summer.
In the future the company intends to be involved in a number of niche technologies with a focus on renewable energy, recycling and contaminated land markets.
Mr Turner is well known in environmental business circles in the West Midlands as Chairman of the Advantage West Midlands environmental technology business group and as a Director and former Chairman of Midlands Environmental Business Company Limited.
